The Odeon of Herodes Atticus is an ancient Roman theater set into the south-west slope of the Acropolis of Athens, just below the rock and accessed from Dionysiou Areopagitou Street. Built in 161 AD and funded by the wealthy rhetorician Herodes Atticus as a memorial to his wife Regilla, the monumental stone-and-marble structure once seated roughly 5,000 spectators across 32 tiers.
