Zwinger with Semperbau is one of Dresden's most visited landmarks and a leading example of Baroque architecture in Germany. Built between 1711 and 1728 for Augustus the Strong, the complex of pavilions, curved galleries and a nymphs' bath encloses gardens and ponds and is richly decorated with sculptures, many by Balthasar Permoser.
